Feyenoord receives help from outside and makes a formal offer for the attacker

Feyenoord has put a formal offer on the table in Uruguay to free Luciano Rodríguez from Liverpool Montevideo, 1908.nl reported on Saturday morning. The Rotterdam club has been interested in the right winger all winter, who is still with his club until December 2027. Now Feyenoord, with outside help, is said to have made a formal million-dollar bid for Rodríguez.
The Rotterdam fan medium writes that Feyenoord is receiving ‘light help from outside’ in the attempt to sign the twenty-year-old winger. As a result, the Stadium Club has put a cautious million-dollar offer on the table, in which it would obtain a maximum of eighty percent of Rodríguez’s transfer rights.
Feyenoord wants to spread the multi-million payment to Liverpool Montevideo over several seasons. According to 1908.nl, the first offer from the Rotterdammers is just over 5 million euros. It seems unlikely for the time being that this first formal offer will be accepted immediately. Transfermarkt currently values Rodríguez at 4.5 million euros.
The Argentinian River Plate is also closely monitoring the situation surrounding Rodríguez. According to 1908.nl, the youth international is charmed by both attempts at rapprochement, although he hopes to work in Europe in the near future. River Plate has reportedly already made a higher bid for Rodríguez’s services.
Liverpool Montevideo is currently considering Feyenoord’s offer. “Since the player himself wants to move to Feyenoord and has expressed his wishes in Uruguay, a deal is not considered impossible,” according to 1908.nl. If a winter transfer does not go ahead, Feyenoord still wants to bring Rodríguez to De Kuip next summer.

According to journalist Germán García Grova, Feyenoord would have made an offer of 10 million euros, which could even rise to 14 million euros through bonuses. 1908.nl then announced that there was no official offer yet.
Feyenoord sees Rodríguez as an option for both the striker and right wing positions. The right foot scored 9 goals and 6 assists in 34 games for Liverpool last season. Rodríguez played in 25 of those 34 matches as a right winger, making it likely that Feyenoord will initially want to position him on the right flank of the attack.
