Erling Holland’s Injury Leaves City Struggling: Will They Be Able to Survive Without Him?

23-year-old Erling Holland cannot play due to a leg injury, but the club has not made any further comments. There was hope that the sniper could return to the clubs in time for the World Cup, but that hope was not fulfilled.

“It’s a bone and it takes time. It’s the same with any injury – you can do what you want, but it takes time,” said City head coach Pep Guardiola.

Holland scored 19 goals in 22 games for City this season. Today, the champions will play against “Newcastle”, followed by a 13-day break, during which the team will go to Abu Dhabi to train.

Until the end of the month, “City” will still play in the FA Cup against “Tottenham” (January 26) and in the Premier League against “Burnley” (January 31).

Although Guardiola has indicated he misses Holland, City have not lost any of their eight games without the Norwegian. In the overall standings of the Premier League, “City” is five points behind the leader “Liverpool”, but has a game in reserve.
