Elvis Merzlikin’s 20 Saves Not Enough as Columbus Blue Jackets Fall to Edmonton Oilers

Latvian goaltender Elvis Merzlikins saved 20 of 24 shots on Tuesday in the National Hockey League (NHL) game in which his Columbus Blue Jackets lost. The Blue Jackets will be visiting with a result 1:4 (1-1, 0-0, 0-3) lost to the Edmonton Oilers, who extended their record winning streak to 14 games.

Warren Fegele and Evander Kane scored 1+1 for the winners, while Connor McDavid and Dylan Holloway also scored. Dmitrii Voronkov scored the only accurate shot for the visitors.

With 37 points in 46 games, the “Blue Jackets” occupy the last 16th place in the Eastern Conference and will play their next match on Thursday, when they will meet the Calgary “Flames” on the road.
