Elkan Baggott has taken part in Indonesian National Team training in Türkiye. The Ipswich Town player admitted that he was looking forward to showing off at the 2023 Asian Cup.
Elkan’s presence means that the Indonesian national team squad is now complete in Türkiye. Elkan just joined the Indonesian National Team Training Camp (TC) on Tuesday (2/1/2024).
Elkan Baggott emphasized that Indonesia still has enough time to improve the team’s shortcomings. Previously, Garuda lost 0-4 to Libya in trials, Tuesday (2/1).
“It’s a good day, the condition of the field is also good, the other colleagues are also fit, I’m ready for the Asian Cup,” said Elkan, quoted from the PSSI website.
Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong has not played Elkan in the first trial against Libya. Understandably, Elkan only joined on the same day as the match schedule.
The Indonesian national team will still face Libya again in the second and final test against Iran. The second match against Iran will be held on Friday (5/1), then Iran will meet in Qatar on Tuesday (91/).
“We still have several trial matches left, so we are currently preparing to face them all by taking advantage of the time we have before the tournament starts,” said Elkan Baggott.
Now the Garuda squad has 27 players in Türkiye. The national team is just waiting for Shayne Pattynama because he has permission to return to the Netherlands to accompany his sick mother.
