DSV Leoben is about to sign Gabriel Lukacevic.
As the 22-year-old defender confirmed to the “Salzburger Nachrichten”, he was able to come to an agreement with the club from the Admiral 2nd League about a commitment: “They want me and we have already agreed verbally. I will get the contract on Monday sent, then everything should be fixed.”
Most recently, Lukacevic, who moved from Red Bull Salzburg’s youth team to SV Grödig in 2015 – and established himself in the first team there over the years – was on trial training in Leoben. The 22-year-old is scheduled to travel to the training camp in Croatia on Thursday.
“Now this dream is coming true”
“The fact that I can make the jump from the fourth to the second division is extraordinary. I dreamed of a professional contract as a young player, and now this dream is coming true. I will give everything to prevail,” says Lukacevic, whose Brother Leonardo is under contract with SCR Altach.
Heimo Pfeifenberger, sporting director in Grödig, has a lot of confidence in Lukacevic: “He is very talented and can even play higher up.”
