Dispute between Le Havre and LFP in Paris Judicial Court: Decision Expected Soon

The summary judge of the Paris Judicial Court must render his decision on Tuesday in the dispute between Le Havre (11th in L1) and the Professional Football League (LFP). The oldest club in French football had contacted this judge in order to request the suspension of the decisions taken by the general assembly of the League on April 1, 2022 which did not appear on its agenda but also those of the board of directors of the proceeding of May 4 of the same year on the terms of distribution of the sums paid by the CVC investment fund to professional clubs (it gave 1.5 billion euros in exchange for 13% of the lifetime income of the commercial company created on occasion).

The hearing took place on November 28 and, faced with the HAC’s legal action, the LFP convened an AGM on November 23 in order to resubmit the criticized decisions to the vote of the clubs. The order which will be issued today by the judge in summary proceedings will therefore be without consequence: even if it rules in favor of Le Havre, the LFP will be able to rely on the decisions taken during the new General Meeting.

This is only the first round because, at the same time, Le Havre also filed an action on the merits, with a first hearing scheduled for the end of February.
