Davide Brivio Resigns from Alpine F1 Team, Rumored to Return to MotoGP and Join Yamaha

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Davide Brivio has resigned from his position as Director of the Alpine Formula 1 F1 Team. Currently he is rumored to be returning to MotoGP. Rumors are circulating that Brivo will rebuild Repsol Honda to replace Alberto Puig.

Reporting from Crash, however, the latest issue states that the former Suzuki Ecstar manager is reported to possibly be Lin Jarvis’ “successor” at Yamaha.

Yamaha MotoGP number one Lin Jarvis is rumored to be leaving Yamaha after the 2024 season. So Drivio is considered suitable as managing director of the Japanese manufacturer.

On the other hand, a reasonable analysis is that Brivio’s presence could be the key to luring Valentino Rossi’s VR46 MotoGP team to become a Yamaha satellite squad.

As is known, the VR46 Racing Team, which is still tied to Ducati in 2024, is considering whether to stay or leave.

Meanwhile, Rossi’s personal history with Yamaha is legendary, and Brivio is the person behind it.

Brivio is famous as Yamaha team manager between 2004-2010.

Previously, Brivio was heavily linked with Honda, when he confirmed his exit from F1. However, news of a move to Honda has evaporated and Yamaha could now be the ideal landing place.

Before joining the Renault division in F1, Brivio worked at Yamaha and Suzuki. He has held Suzuki since returning to MotoGP in 2015 and won the title in the 2020 season with Joan Mir.
