D’Angelo Russell Fined $15,000 for Kicking Ball into Stands After Lakers Victory

D’Angelo Russell of the Los Angeles Lakers was fined $15,000 on Monday for kicking a ball into the stands.

The gesture came Saturday after a Lakers victory against the Golden State Warriors, following two overtimes.

The sanction was announced by NBA executive vice president Joe Dumars.

On a last chance shot from Stephen Curry (much too short), Russell kicked the ball in the air, towards the public.

LeBron James made the difference with free throws with 1.2 seconds left on the clock.

This, on the heels of a long three-point shot from Curry, with 4.7 seconds remaining.

The Lakers prevailed 145-144 in San Francisco.

James contributed 36 points, a career-high 20 rebounds and 12 assists.

Curry had 46 points including nine three-pointers, a career high this season.
