Copa del Rey: they are organizing a raffle to distribute the jerseys of Real Madrid players

As in France, the first football weekend of the year in Spain is reserved for the national cup, the opportunity for many amateur teams to compete in the big professional world. This will be the case for Arandina’s small team, playing in the fourth division, which won the jackpot by drawing Real Madrid in the round of 16. For the occasion, the Castilian club decided to take a surprising initiative in the form of a raffle.

To anticipate possible quarrels when exchanging jerseys with Carlo Ancelotti’s team at the end of the meeting scheduled for this Saturday at 9:30 p.m., Arandina organized a survey within his squad to find out everyone’s wishes. A list sent to Real Madrid that the Madrid newspaper Marca obtained. And surprise, it’s not the tunic of Jude Bellingham, the most popular rising star of world football, but that of 2018 Ballon d’Or Luka Modric. Nine Petit Poucet players placed him on the list, compared to three for the England international.

“In the locker room, I proposed this idea to try to have as many jerseys as possible. Otherwise, everyone was going to want the same,” reveals captain Jorge Gonzalez, to Marca. To ensure fairness, the latter even planned a draw for players who requested the same jersey. “I think the beauty of this match is to have a memory,” concludes the central defender.
