Clippers Shine while Suns Struggle: Contrasting Paths in the NBA

Like night and day. This is how you can define the difference that currently exists between the Clippers and the Suns, two teams called to be in the fight for the ring and that today live in opposite situations; So much so that last morning the Californians surpassed those of Arizona to take the victory by a resounding 138-111.

Without having to make a great effort, Tyronn Lue’s boys kept Phoenix at bay and definitively broke the game with a spectacular last quarter in which they achieved a 37-20 run. They were simply superior while all their players did their part. Paul George scored 25 points and the rest of the quintet exceeded ten points. After the 106-103 loss to the Lakers, they reacted in the best possible way.

«Losing that game really woke us up. Offensively, the ball moved and we created easy shots for each other,” comments the head coach of the Clippers, very satisfied with what he saw on the hardwood.

With the victory, the Clippers consolidate themselves in fourth position in the Western Conference with a balance of 23-13, while the Suns remain with a record of 19-18 that at least keeps them in positions of play-in.

The problems grow

Beyond the results – which also – what worries about Arizona is that the team has practically been left with nothing beyond its stars. Last night Kevin Durant left with 30 points, Devin Booker contributed 20 and Bradley Beal had 15, but they were not even close to fighting for victory in Los Angeles territory. After the match, Frank Vogel could only praise the opponent’s level.

“They have three Hall of Famers who are really difficult to defend and they have a very complete team,” says the Suns head coach.
