The company Cat España Fletamentos y Transportes has submitted an application to the Santander Port Authority to obtain an administrative concession in the Raos central breakwater. Specifically, the operator plans to use a 100,788 m² plot of land intended for parking vehicles, both for import and export, with designated areas for the preparation of lots.

The company intends to have 18 parking lines for trucks that will facilitate the process of loading and unloading vehicles. In addition, near this area there is a 2,000 m² removable warehouse dedicated to the technical preparation of vehicles, accessory assembly, vehicle washing and paint repair.

The new space will be used to provide logistics services to Suzuki, which began importing vehicles through the port of Santander at the end of 2023. It is expected to move between 3,000 and 4,000 vehicles annually, with growth prospects in the coming years.

In response to this request, those responsible for the port of Santander have initiated the project competition process. During a period of one month, other requests related to this space in the Santander port public domain may be submitted.

On the other hand, the Port Authority of Santander and the city council of the Cantabrian capital have revealed an exciting joint project that aims to evaluate the impact of cruise activity in the city and throughout the region.
