The first playoff weekend ends in Florida as the surprising Bucs will perhaps cause a major surprise by putting the final nail in the coffin of the Eagles this season.
Nothing is going well with Philadelphia and the collapse of the last few weeks forces the team into exile for the playoffs after participating in the Super Bowl last season.
Five defeats in six games to end the campaign and the middle finger of the right hand of Jalen Hurts is worse than a busy Montreal street after an evening of icy conditions. A.J. Brown et DeVonta Smith is also banged up to start this new portion of the season and really, for the Bucs, it’s the best time to meet the Eagles on the field.
It remains to be seen whether Baker Mayfield, who is smiling again, will be able to thwart the aggressiveness of Nick Sirianni’s defense.
On paper, the Bucs shouldn’t pose a threat to the Eagles, especially not after a timid performance of just nine points against the poor Panthers.
The circumstances, however, will be ripe for surprise.
