Bills Defeat Patriots and Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

Josh Allen ran for two touchdowns, cornerback Rasul Douglas returned one of his two interceptions for a score and the Bills kept their path to the playoffs with a 27-21 victory over the Patriots.

The Bills will now have a decisive matchup in Miami next weekend to determine the AFC East champion. Buffalo already defeated the Dolphins this season and Miami missed a chance to clinch the division title by losing 56-19 to Baltimore.

The Bills have not yet secured their postseason ticket, but they could do so with a loss or a tie for Pittsburgh in Seattle and a loss or tie for Cincinnati in Kansas City.

Buffalo won its fourth straight and fifth in six games by overcoming an inconsistent offense that settled for one touchdown and two field goals after three turnovers forced by its defense inside the Patriots’ 30-yard line (4-12 ) in the first half.

Allen converted three times on third down on Buffalo’s final drive to run out the final 5:02 of the game clock.
