Bernard Ducuing, former Montpellier and Reims player, has died

Bernard Ducuing died at the age of 73, the Montpellier club announced this Wednesday on its social networks. Having played for Red Star (1970-1975), Stade de Reims (1975-1978) and MPSC (1978-1984), the attacking midfielder played 199 matches in the First Division and 197 matches in D2. Crowned French Second Division champion with the Ile-de-France club in 1974, the native of Provins (Seine-et-Marne) reached the final of the Coupe de France with Reims in 1977 (1-2 defeat against Saint-Étienne).

Player of Montpellier during the club’s first rise to D1 in 1981, author of 43 goals in 220 matches for La Paillade until his departure in 1984, “Bernard Ducuing undoubtedly left his mark on the MPSC”, writes the team Hérault, renamed MHSC in 1989, in its tribute to its former player.
