Bergé modernizes with the acquisition of a new Liebherr crane |

In its firm commitment to achieving more efficient and sustainable operations in ports, Bergé continues with its investment plan aimed at modernizing and renewing its machinery, as well as its terminals and infrastructure.

Within the framework of this project, the company has incorporated the third Liebherr crane in recent months. This is the LHM550 model, which stands out for its 54 meters of range and a maximum load capacity of 144 tons. Likewise, the equipment is especially suitable for handling bulk, steel products and project cargo.

Apart from enhancing operational efficiency, the new Bergé acquisition also contributes significantly to the reduction of emissions into the atmosphere. With 26% less fuel consumption, the Liebherr LHM550 crane is presented as a more sustainable alternative for port operations.

It is worth mentioning that the machinery incorporates mechanical insulation solutions that not only minimize noise, but also reduce noise pollution in the work area, thus improving environmental conditions in the port environment.

To guarantee optimal performance and keep the machinery in perfect condition, the Liebherr LHM550 crane includes the ‘LiDAT Smart App Maintenance’ program. Through this system, the operator obtains a real-time view of the status of the equipment, allowing Bergé to make informed decisions to reduce interventions and increase the availability of the machinery.

Another advance of the logistics operator related to its modernization and infrastructure process is the launch of a new terminal in the Port of Barcelona, now located at the Príncipe de España dock.
