Baleària presents its business plan and news for 2024 in FITUR |

The renowned shipping company Baleària has revealed exciting news during its participation in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) by bringing together travel agencies from various territories to strengthen commercial alliances and present its business plan for the year 2024.

Among the notable developments is the incorporation of two new eco-efficient ships to its fleet, thus reinforcing its commitment to sustainable maritime transport. Likewise, the acquisition of the Rusadir cruise ferry has been highlighted, consolidating itself as a competitive and sustainable option for connections with Melilla.

In the field of operations in the Canary Islands, Baleària confirmed its fifth year of collaboration with Fred.Olsen Express, announcing the introduction of a third weekly departure for passengers with the Sicilia ferry, equipped with dual natural gas engines.

At an international level, the company celebrated 20 years of activity in Morocco, highlighting its role during last year’s Operation Crossing the Strait, where it reinforced its services with more than 10 daily rotations and doubled its offer in Nador.

As part of its global expansion, Baleària announced a new route in the Caribbean, connecting the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. This daily service, which will begin at the end of 2024, will link San Pedro de Macorís with Mayagüez in a seven-hour journey, promoting connectivity and socioeconomic development between both countries.

Finally, the company presented projects for five smart terminals in Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Fort Lauderdale (Florida, USA), San Pedro de Macorís (Dominican Republic) and Mayagüez (Puerto Rico). These terminals are designed to improve efficiency and experience for customers and carriers.

On the other hand, the companies Baleària, Boluda Lines and Naviera Armas have extended their commitment to Correos to offer national maritime transport services, focused on postal shipping to the Peninsula and the Canary Islands.
