VEENENDAAL The badminton competition resumed this weekend after a month of rest with an away match for WSV Dragonder Noord against Stuban (Students Badminton Nijmegen). The Veenendalers recorded a good 3-5 victory.

Luca Lunetta and Roland Halekor started slowly and lost the first set, but they were able to put things right again in the second and third sets and still achieved victory: 21-16, 11-21 and 13-21.

Gert Jan Enzlin and Laurens Noorda had no trouble with their opponents and won quite easily with 12-21 and 19-21.

Lunetta then had a hard time with his single, it did not turn out as he had envisioned. He lost the first set, he won the second set and the third set was a true thriller that he narrowly lost: 21-12, 8-21 and 23-21. Noorda was no match for his single and lost twice 21-11.

Enzlin just lost his first set and was able to recover well in the second set. He was unable to continue this in the third set: 21-19, 17-21 and 21-12. Halekor and his opponent were well matched. The Veenendaler was able to take the match after two exciting sets: 18-21 20-22.

Halekor and Enzlin then had no problem with their opponents in the doubles and won 16-21 and 6-21. Everything was now also correct at Lunetta and Noorda and the opponent was beaten 19-21 and 8-21.

The next match is at home against the number two: Beuningen on Saturday, January 13. The youth teams will also start again with a home match. The public is welcome between 1:00 PM and approximately 3:30 PM.
