Badminton Club Fos Continues Winning Streak in Top 12 Division with 6th Consecutive Victory

6th success in a row for the Fos badists in Top 12, the first division of French badminton. A 2/6 victory in Aix. Barely back from their tour in Asia, Tomi and Christo Popov were on the field today at the Louison Bobet gymnasium for this beautiful southern derby.

Tomi Popov won the 1st point for Fos after an easy victory against Yohan Barbieri 0/2. Tom Lalot-Trescate and Elsa Jacob, seeded number 4 at the French Championships next weekend, put up a good battle against the experienced Ronan Labar and Alina Davletova but they ultimately lost 2/1.

Turkey’s Neslihan Yigit Arin put BCF back in front thanks to her victory against Mariya Mitsova 0/2. Christo Popov and Mai Surrow, who played together for the first time this season, also won their meeting against Grégoire Deschamp and Juliette Moinard.

Turkey’s Zehra Erdem dominated Anastasia Akchurina 1/2. 0/2 victory in the men’s doubles with Tomi Popov and Tom Lalot-Trescarte against the Aix pair Ronan Labar & Sylvain Grosjean. In singles Christo Popov assumed his favorite status and won 0/2 against Grégoire Deschamp. Finally in women’s doubles, Mai Surrow and Neslihan Yigit Arin triumphed over Anastasia Akchurina and Alina Davletova.

The Badminton Club Fos therefore signed its sixth victory in as many matches against its rival Aixois and once again consolidates its place as leader of the Top 12 before hosting in a few days the French Championships and making Fos-sur-Mer the capital of badminton for a weekend.
