At a friendly judo tournament, over 80 children from TuS Bad Aibling and some friendly clubs competed on three mats in the gymnasium of the Alpenland business school.

Bad Aibling – Department head Denis Weisser welcomed the judoka, supervisors, parents and fans as well as sports speaker Erwin Kühnel. The tournament director Phillipp Amplezter divided the children into small groups of close weight to fight in “everyone against everyone” mode. The focus was on having fun and learning the customs of judo tournaments. Martin Garic and Lissy Gambos led the short warm-up round, after which the children showed their best judo and fought for every point.

Club athletes and school judo children dare to start

The fair and injury-free encounters were led by Georg Lamminger from Teisendorf, Manuel Sencar from Freilassing and several judges from Aibling. Mat doctor Till Goldammer had a quiet afternoon. In addition to the club athletes, there were also school judo children from the various judo groups that TUS Bad Aibling has at the Aibling schools. The subsequent award ceremony was held by Mayor Stephan Schlier with Santa Claus, his Krampus and a Percht. The children received prizes and were happy about the placements and certificates. The Upper Bavaria district held another honor. District chairman Denis Weisser, mayor Stephan Schlier and Teodor Pop from the World Judo Federation IJF presented the honored judo official Helge Derx with the gold badge of honor and Robert Buendowski the silver badge of honor.

The department head concludes the event with praise to the recipients of the badge of honor

“Robert and Helge are veterans of the judo department and an integral part of the sport. Your years and decades of commitment have brought judo in Bad Aibling to the position where we are today. Derx has been involved in training and testing operations for years and is active as third department head. Buendowski is the coach and team captain of the Bayernliga team and under his direction our men’s team placed first in the Bavarian Judo Association’s Bayernliga this year. He is also second department head. I would like to thank both of them for their outstanding commitment and hope that they continue to enjoy the sport of judo,” concluded department head Denis Weisser.
