AWO Partners with foodsharing Initiative to Reduce Food Waste in Hilden

The Hildener AWO has been a partner in the environmental and educational initiative “foodsharing” since January 19th. The goal is to reduce food waste in companies and counteract overproduction. Waste in private households should also be reduced and awareness should be raised about how food is handled.

A so-called FAIRteilBAR is now located in the Josef-Kremer-Haus at Schulstrasse 35 and is the first of its kind in Hilden. Every citizen is invited to help themselves to the food free of charge or to fill the “fair share boxes” themselves with edible food such as fruit, vegetables, baked goods or dry goods that are no longer needed. Refrigerated goods or baked goods, for example with cream, are excluded. This food exchange point is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Further information is available by calling 240188 or at www.foodsharing.de
