“When it came down to it, I was able to sprint well,” she reflects. It didn’t matter that she fell just off the podium, because Evi was happy with what she had achieved. ‘I have never finished in the top five during such competitions before. For me it was a very nice evening, I am very satisfied. And it helped that this competition was next door in Noordlaren,” she says, referring to the skating marathon in Winterswijk, a day earlier.
