This year Alejandra won a silver medal at the 2023 Berlin World Championships, she also won the silver at the 2023 Archery World Cup based in Hermosillo, in addition to the Gold medal at the Pan American Games held in Chile , with which she undoubtedly signed her best year as a professional goalkeeper.

That is why the World Archey Americas, which is based in Medellín, Colombia, named Valencia Trujillo as the most outstanding archer of 2023 in her specialty, since with this year’s Pan American medal she became the first archer in win top honors in said competition for the third time.

On this occasion, not only Sonora monopolized the spotlight with Alejandra Valencia, but Mexican archery in general, as Miguel Ángel Flores Castañeda was chosen as the “Coach of the Continent 2023”, in the recurve bow category, due to the great results achieved by the last year at the head of the Mexican women’s team of that modality.

In total, the World Archery Americas rewarded six Mexicans with this nomination, since in addition to Valencia Trujillo and Flores Castañeda, they awarded Dafne Quintero (Senior Women’s Compound), Ángela Ruiz (U18 Women’s Youth Recurve) and Matías Grande (U18 Women’s Recurve) for their performances.
