The victory over the participant of the spring part of the European Cups has a sound. Perhaps even more important for Teplice is that Abdallah Gning has finally woken up. The Senegalese forward delivered a decisive blow with two goals in the 46th and 47th minutes.
“We are very happy that Abu has made his mark after a long time. The boys showed that they are slowly getting in shape,” acknowledges Jan Rezek.
Gning came to Stínadl in the summer of 2022 from the second division Vlašimi and immediately shone. In the first season, he scored nine goals, even two per match for Sparta. Speculation began as to where the African trump would move from Teplice.
But then as if it dies. In the current season, he managed only 8 league matches, he did not score a single shot in them. He also went down with his performances.
At the end of the training camp in Turkey, he raised hopes that the good old days could return. He could easily score four goals, after two hits he even went to the goalkeeper himself.
“This is perhaps the moment that could take him further in his career. After scoring two goals, he should have such confidence that he will solve the chance on the goalkeeper in a different way. But maybe he saves his goals for the league,” hopes Rezek.

The assistant is entitled to similar judgments, having scored 49 goals in 344 league matches during a colorful career.
The overall assessment of the concentration is clearly positive. “I think there is a great team here, which was also seen during the evening programs. I think we will remember the concentration in a good way,” he says.
As he suggests, after dinner the team also had a knowledge test.
“None of us guessed that the foursome Hronek, Mareček, Fila, Kričfaluši could win the last quiz. But in football, everything is possible,” Rezek says with a laugh about the knowledge quiz champions from Teplice.
