€40 million which could impact the finances of FC Barcelona

This issue is of great importance for the club chaired by Joan Laporta. From a sporting point of view, any failure in this operation could impact the salary cap granted by La Liga. On a corporate level, this reorganization of shares was a crucial step before the IPO of the subsidiary, merged with Spac Mountain.

Questions upon signing with the investment fund

As reported by 2Playbook, Libero’s profile had already raised questions, given that this fund had just refocused its strategy towards the football industry, with the arrival of Peter Kenyon, former CEO of Manchester United and Chelsea FC , as well as Fredi Bobic, ex-footballer and former sporting director of Bundesliga clubs such as VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha BSC Berlin.

€20.01 million expected on August 11 and €19.82 million ten days later

The German fund was initially expected to make an investment of 40 million euros by acquiring 4.9% from Socios.com and 4.9% from Orpheus Media, a company controlled by Jaume Roures. According to the original sales contract, Libero was to pay 20.01 million euros on August 11, with the remaining 19.82 million to be settled on August 21. However, an extension until August 29 was planned if an initial payment of 5 million was made on the date initially agreed upon.
