TIVOLI (cronaca) – Further investigations are underway under the direction of the Tivoli Public Prosecutor’s Office to clarify the dynamics of the murder which occurred in Sant’Oreste in the province of Viterbo

Today the GIP at the Court of Tivoli accepted the request for custody in prison presented by the Tivoli Prosecutor’s Office against CG, aged 73, seriously suspected of the crime of aggravated murder to the detriment of his wife DR, aged 71, arrested on 2 January 2024 by decree issued by the Tivoli Prosecutor’s Office.
The validation hearing was held today before the GIP during which the suspect made use of the right not to answer as he had already done the previous day in the interrogation before the Public Prosecutor.
At the end of the hearing, the GIP issued an order for the application of prison custody against the man, not validating the precautionary measure by not recognizing the existence of the risk of escape.
The GIP fully accepted the approach of the Prosecutor’s Office, both as regards the provisional charge of aggravated murder (to be considered at present conceivable as femicide, meaning the killing of a woman committed for gender reasons), and as regards the reconstruction of the serious circumstantial framework.
