35th Italian Targa Para-Archery Championship Concludes First Day of Competitions in Florence

The first day of competitions of the 35th Italian Targa Para-Archery Championship which is being held in Florence on the Arcieri Ugo di Toscana field has concluded. After the 72 ranking arrows that assigned the class titles, the preliminaries were held which defined the finals for the overall women’s titles and the men’s semifinalists.
Sunday’s matches will be broadcast live on YouArco and on federal social networks from 9.30 am. The team and mixed challenges will also be broadcast simultaneously on the Sport2U web channel, while the summary of the individual finals will be broadcast in the next few days on Rai Sport.

THE FINALISTS – In the women’s event, the final for the open recurve title will be played by the same performers as last year: the outgoing champion Elisabetta Mijno (Fiamme Azzurre), who won the class title with 648 points, will face Enza Petrilli (Fiamme Oro), while Veronica Floreno (GSPD) will challenge Letizia Visintini (Arcieri Cormons) for the bronze. In the open women’s compound the defending champion Maria Andrea Virgilio (Fiamme Azzurre) with Eleonora Sarti (GSPD) will compete for the overall Italian title ), while the challenge for third place will see the challenge between Giulia Pesci (GSPD) and Irene Picci (Arcieri Padovani). In the W1 the Italian title will be fought for by the Italian Asia Pellizzari (Arcieri del Castello) with Stefania Giacometti (Pol. Disabled Valcamonica). Third place for Daila Dameno (Pol. Disabili Valcamonica) who lost the semifinal against her teammate 118-117.

THE SEMI-FINALISTS – The men’s matches were played up to the quarter-finals. In the open recurve the semi-finals will see the reigning champion Maurizio Mancini (Frecce Azzurre) compete against Stefano Travisani (GSPD) and, on the other side of the board, Roberto Airoldi (Arcieri Cameri) and Salvatore Campolo (Dyamond Archery Palermo). In the open compound the defending champion Giampaolo Cancelli (Arcieri Alpignano) will face Massimo Migailo (Arcieri Padovani) in the semi-final and Matteo Bonacina (Arcieri delle Alpi) will play in the final Marco Coluccini (Kentron Dard). In the W1 the semi-final matches will see the challenge between Paolo Tonon ( Arcieri del Castello) and Daniele Cassiani (GSPD) and between Maurizio Panella (GSPD) and Francesco Tomaselli (Arcieri Solese).

VISUALLY IMPAIRED – In the Visually Impaired 1 category, the defending champion Matteo Panariello (Arcieri Livornesi) will challenge Barbara Contini (Arcieri San Bernardo) for the second tricolor, while the match for third place will be between Giordano Cardellini (Sagitta Arcieri Pesaro) and Maria Salaris (Arcieri Poggibonsi). Among the Visually Impaired 2/3 the reigning champion Daniele Piran (Arcieri Bolzano Vicentino) will face Giovanni Maria Vaccaro (Dyamond Archery Palermo). Alessandro Sebastiani (Arcieri Real Villa) and Ivan Nesossi (Non Vedenti Milano Onlus) will compete for third place.

TEAMS AND MIXED TEAMS – As regards the recurve, the final of the men’s doubles will be between Frecce Azzure (Mancini, Punzo) and the hosts Arcieri Ugo di Toscana (Condrò, Dolfi). In the mixed recurve Dyamond Archery Palermo (Floreno, Campolo) will challenge the Cormons Archers (Visintini, Verzini). In the men’s double compound we start from the semi-finals. Arcieri Alpignano (Cancelli, Venturelli) against PHB (Bellini, Schieda) and Kentron Dard (Coluccini, Perna) against Pol. Disabili Valcamonica (Lebrino, Torri). In the mixed compound there will be the final between Arcieri Padovani (Picci, Migailo) and Arcieri Minerva (Pesci, Bozzetti). In the men’s W1 doubles the Frecce Azzurre (Panella, Sorato) and Ki Oshi Archery (Graziosi, Uguzzoni) titles will be played, while in the mixed team the challenge for gold will be between Arcieri del Castello (Pellizzari, Tonon) and Pol. Disabili Valcamonica (Dameno, Menici).

THE FISDIR TITLES – In the morning, the Italian Fisdir titles were also awarded for the first time at the same time and in the same competition venue as the Tricolori Para-Archery. The Championship reserved for archers with intellectual and relational disabilities, now in its third edition, was contested on 48 arrows and decreed the following winners: in the “Basic Level” category with Olympic Bow shooting at 15 meters, Gabriele won the men’s gold Cordier (Arcieri Tor di Quinto) with 415 points and Riccardo Puggioni (Speedy Sport Onlus) is silver with 350. In the “Basic Level” category the women’s Arco Olimpico wins instead Irene Cabras (Speedy Sport Onlus) with 316. For the “Basic Level” Arco Nudo won gold for Matteo Pinzauti (Lu004) with 371, silver for Marco Spanu (Speedy Sport Onlus) with 345 and bronze for Luciano Succu (Speedy Sport Onlus) with 225. For the “Advanced Level” Arco Olimpico shot at the maximum distance of 18 meters Alfonso Bruno Giordano (Polisportiva Baupark) won the gold with 437, while Jie Liu (Arcieri Tor di Quinto) finished second with 305 points. In the men’s “Advanced Level” Arco Nudfo, Alessandro Capotosti (Antares Sporting Club) won the title with 425, second place for Andrea Prisma (Polisportiva Milanese 1979) with 367 and bronze for Massimiliano Zannini (Arcieri Tor di Quinto) with 321 points. In the “Beginner Level” men’s Arco Nudo category, Alexandro Vlad Petrea (Antares Sporting Club) won the title with 412, silver for Francesco Rizzo D’Angelo (Vivi Sano Sport) with 392 and, with the same score, but with two 9s less, Marco Casteletti (Star of the Sea) won the bronze. The “Beginner Level” Arco Nudo women’s ranking saw the victory of the Italian title by Silvana Rizzuto (Vivi Sano Sport) with 420 points, followed on the podium by Maria Simonetta Piga (Asd Arcobaleno) with 392 and by Ines Falchi (Speedy Sport Onlus) with 338.
