Wout Van Aert wins the sixth round of the Superprestige in Heusden-Zolder

In the absence of the Dutchman Mathieu Van der Poel, winner of the 10th stage of the World Cup in Gavre on Tuesday, the Belgian Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) won the sixth round of Superprestige in 57’05”, over more of 27 km, Wednesday afternoon in Heusden-Zolder (Belgium).

His compatriot Eli Iserbyt resisted for almost the entire race, before giving in in the final restarts, and crossed the line eight seconds behind the winner of the day. The Dutchman Joris Nieuwenhuis took third place at 34 seconds, while the first Frenchman, Clément Venturini, finished fourteenth at 1 minute and 38 seconds.

Two races from the end of this 42nd edition of the Superprestige, Iserbyt has almost assured his overall victory in the Superprestige. He is 25 points ahead of Nieuwenhuis and Niels Vandeputte, tied for second, while a victory is worth 15 points.
