The footballers from RB Leipzig missed the breakthrough in the relegation battle. In the duel between the promoted teams, coach Saban Uzun’s team only managed a 0-0 draw on Friday evening (December 8th, 2023). RB thus missed the chance to move away from the relegation places. Nuremberg remains second to last with four points. Before that, Leipzig is tenth in the table with six points.
The guests from Franconia got off to a better start. Vanessa Haim (9th minute) failed from close range to RB keeper Elvira Herzog. Leipzig only scored their first chance after 36 minutes, but Jenny Hipp was offside. In the 42nd minute, Nuremberg had another great chance after a bad pass from Herzog – but the goalkeeper was able to make amends for her mistake and made the save.
After the change, the game remained poor. Nuremberg had another chance to take the lead through Haim (58th). In the final phase, Leipzig pressed, but did not take advantage of the few chances they had.
