Ernando Ari Sutaryadi admitted that he was happy to be called Justin Hubner the Indonesian National team for the 2023 Asian Cup (2024).

Hubner, who had just been sworn in as an Indonesian citizen (WNI), was officially on the call list for the Indonesian National Team’s training camp in Turkey and Qatar for three weeks.

“Good [Justin Hubner masuk Timnas Indonesia]. There’s additional good ammo, young, and it’s class, really. “He’s very good,” said Ernando before leaving for Turkey on Tuesday (19/12).

Currently the Indonesian national team squad has left for Türkiye. Those who departed from Jakarta were players competing domestically, namely in Liga 1 2023/2024.

Meanwhile, members of the diaspora, such as Elkan Baggott, Marselino Ferdinan, Sandy Walsh, Jordi Amat, and Shayne Pattynama immediately gathered in Turkey or even in Qatar.

With Hubner joining, there are now more options in defense. Hubner will compete with Jordi, Rizky Ridho, Baggott, and Wahyu ‘Hulk’ Prasetyo.

Currently Hubner is defending the Premier League club, Wolverhampton Wanderers. Because the Premier League competition continues at the end of this year, Hubner is likely to join in early January.

Regarding this matter, there is no definite information from PSSI, including from Shin Tae Yong, as to when Hubner will join. Shin hopes that Hubner can join before the trial against Libya.

The Indonesian national team will face Libya on January 2 and 5 2024 in Antalya, Turkey. After that, Asnawi Mangkualam and his friends will practice against Iran in Qatar before playing in the 2023 Asian Cup.
