The German six finished with a time of two minutes and 48.665 seconds, the second-placed Austrians lost 0.550 seconds and the third-placed Americans were 0.646 seconds slower.
The Italian luge drivers lost 0.028 seconds to the top three, but the Latvians beat them by almost seven tenths of a second. Canada, Poland, Ukraine and Romania remained behind the Latvian team.
