Wild Boar Injured by Arrow Highlights Need for Animal Rights Legislation

“Just ten days ago, together with the parliamentary intergroup for animal rights that I chair, I defined the amendment to the Liguria law as “barbaric”.
Today we had proof of this: a wild boar was injured on the snout and needed treatment to avoid bleeding to death, in terrible suffering. But how many find themselves in the same situation, brutally injured, but without any help?”

To say it the Hon. Michela Vittoria Brambilla, president of the Italian League for the Defense of Animals and the Environment and of the Intergroup, commenting on the news of a young specimen of wild boar, hit by an arrow on the snout, which needed the care of a volunteer who entrusted it to the Kronos academy .

“If hunting is always violent and anachronistic – continues the Hon. Brambilla – even crazier is to allow self-styled pesto Robin Hoods to train their meager skills on living and sentient targets, causing them grave suffering. The council should retrace its steps by canceling the amendment that allows selective hunting with bow and arrows!”
