Why is women’s football still in the shadows?

This Wednesday, December 13, 2023, the Paris Saint-Germain men’s team is playing for its survival in the Football Champions League against Borussia Dortmund. In parallel with this match, Olympique Lyonnais will try to take an option for qualification for the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League against the Norwegians of Brann Bergen.

The Olympique Lyonnais match does not seem to benefit from the same resonance as that of PSG. Is women’s football still in the shadow of men’s football despite significant efforts to develop it? Are we on the path to equality?
