Stan Wawrinka, who was recently injured, is on the entry list for the first Grand Slam tournament next year.

The Vaudois (ATP 49) is expected to return to Melbourne in time for the 10th anniversary of his first Grand Slam title. The 38-year-old had to withdraw from the tournament in Metz last month due to an ankle injury, but expects to be fit again by the start of the tournament on January 14th.
At the last Australian Open earlier this year, Wawrinka failed in the first round in 5 sets against Slovakian Alex Molcan. In addition to his triumph in 2014, he has reached the semi-finals in Melbourne two more times (2015, 2017).
Stricker and Golubic there
In addition to the Lausanne player, Dominic Stricker (ATP 94) and Viktorija Golubic (WTA 84) will also be included directly in the main table.
Rafael Nadal benefits from a “protected ranking” in his intended comeback, just like Marin Cilic, Milos Raonic, Denis Shapovalov, Jennifer Brady, Angelique Kerber and Naomi Osaka.
