Who holds the top spot in the badminton BWF World Singles World Rankings?

In October 2023, Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen celebrated his 100th consecutive week as men’s singles world No.1 ahead of Anthony Ginting (Indonesia).

Axelsen’s win at the Kumamoto Japan Masters extended his lead over Ginting in the men’s rankings.

Malaysia’s star shulter Lee Zii Jia who was number two in the world last year, is back in the Top 10 after reaching the quarter-finals at the China Masters.

The current women’s singles world champion An Se-young has been in top position for 16 weeks, with her semi-final outing in Kumamoto not affecting the rankings. Japan’s former world No. 1 Yamaguchi Akane remains in second.
