Victory in stoppage time brings first place

Liverpool FC under team manager Jürgen Klopp remained undefeated in the English Premier League for the ninth game in a row. The “Reds” achieved a 2-1 (0-0) win at Crystal Palace and remain on course in the title race.

Substitute Harvey Elliott (90+2) scored the late winning goal for the Anfield team, who initially took the lead in the table. For Liverpool it was their eleventh win of the season in the 16th game.

Expulsion helps Liverpool

Former Mainz Bundesliga striker Jean-Philippe Mateta (57th, penalty kick) took advantage of a self-inflicted penalty to give Palace, ranked in 15th place, the lead. Liverpool star striker Mohamed Salah (76th) equalized. For the Egyptian, it was his 200th goal for Liverpool FC and his 150th goal in the Premier League.

Shortly before, the hosts had lost Jordan Ayew with a yellow-red card (75th). Liverpool immediately used their advantage to equalize before Elliott scored decisively in ten minutes of stoppage time.
