Van Aert and Kuss will lead Visma in the Jaén Paraíso Interior Classic

MADRID, 21 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Dutch team Visma | Lease a Bike has announced this Thursday its participation in the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior, which will be held on February 12, with the current La Vuelta champion Sepp Kuss and the classicomaniac and all-rounder Wout van Aert as leaders in search of victory and the trophy of the Golden Olive.

Sepp Kuss and Wout van Aert will be the leaders of the Dutch team, which faces a change of cycle with a new sponsor, in the third edition of the Clásica Jaén, through the Caminos de Olivos and the dirt sections that the cyclists will travel.

For the route of the test, the theoretical leader and first sword would be the Belgian Wout van Aert, winner of nine stages in the Tour de France, a Milan-San Remo or an Amstel Gold Race. His victory in the Strade Bianche, the other major test with ‘sterrato’ sections on the world calendar, in fact makes him a great favorite to win the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior.

“Being able to say that we are going to have the champion team of the three grand tours in the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior in our third edition is a dream,” said the head of Momparler Cycling and organizer of the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior, Pascual Momparler.

“In addition, Visma | Lease a Bike comes with two stars like Sepp Kuss and Wout van Aert. Three years ago, this would have been unthinkable. We continue to grow and show that Jaén enjoys a preferred place in world cycling because we have the best fans and “the best terrain in the world. The show is going to be fantastic. We are very grateful to Visma for coming to our race, and even more so with these cyclists,” he celebrated.

The Jaén Paraíso Interior Classic will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 and is sponsored by the Jaén Provincial Council. The Andalusian test unites two World Heritage Cities such as Baeza and Úbeda and is characterized by the Olive Tree Paths, ‘sterrato’ sectors drawn between the farms where the olive oil is produced. The first winner was Alexey Lutsenko (2022) and the current champion is the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar.
