A total of 2,500 athletes gathered for this second daytime edition of the last athletic event of the year. With a festive atmosphere and in the rain, nothing has clouded the enjoyment and party that is San Silvestre.
Urko Herrán has once again defended his title by being the first to appear at the finish line with a time of 17.40. Javi Pérez followed closely behind him and in third place was the athlete from Playas de Castellón Mario Álvarez.
In the female category, Lucía Gárate, the Zailu athlete, took the victory with a time of 21.01. Second was Arrate Mintegui and Claudia Anduaga came in third position.
The Alava Athletics Federation, organizer of the race, has distributed cash prizes among the first three from Alava in both categories, with 600 for the winners, 400 for the second and 200 for the third. On the men’s Alava podium, the third was Iker Ortiz de Zárate. In girls, all three have been Alava athletes.
