Twitter war erupts between Nick Kyrgios and Boris Becker following controversial comments

Two don’t argue if one doesn’t want to but when those two are two volcanic personalities like Nick Kyrgios and Boris Becker, the discussion promises to be epic. That is what has happened on ‘X’ (former Twitter) in the last few hours following some statements by the Australian tennis player that the German did not like at all.

The trigger was a few words from Kyrgios to The Athletic in which he assured that the tennis players of the past would have nothing to do with the current ones due to the power of their blows and compared Pete Sampras to Novak Djokovic, assuming that the Serbian would “eat the American alive”.

This detriment to past generations must not have pleased Becker one bit, who was also another of those mentioned by Kyrgios, Wimbledon finalist and winner of the Australian Open doubles title in 2022so the former German tennis player responded forcefully in X.

“Nick is making a lot of noise about tennis lately?! Why is he talking about a sport he apparently hates? Fact check: Nick has never won a major championship as a player or coach (yes, double 1), so where does the credibility come from? Trying to compare generations… Laver against Federer, Borg against Nadal, Sampras against Djokovic?! I’m not even going to mention McEnroe, Conners, Lendl Agassi, Courier, Edberg, Wilander, Kuerten, Bruguera, Rafter, Hewitt and many more… Talk to your @OnlyFans about many things except tennis!!!“wrote the winner of six majors in a wasteless tweet.

Knowing the ‘Aussie’ tennis player, it was evident that he was not going to remain silent and within an hour he ‘responded’ to Becker: “One thing is for sure, I won’t be sitting here in 20 or 30 years claiming that I can compete and compare myself to the new kids in tennis.. It’s definitely an ego thing…”

“I wish Nick a speedy full recovery and I can’t wait to see him on the tennis court again! He is an exciting player when he is fit! He has a Grand Slam under his belt but he has to talk on the court… “Good luck!” Becker added in this discussion in which the blood did not finally reach the river.
