The TVb judokas Simon Wachsmuth and Frederick Schünke successfully passed their brown belt (1st Kyu) exam, the highest student level, at the district exam in Westerkappeln and are now entitled and obliged to wear the brown belt on the judo mat.

In addition to detailed demonstrations and exercises in the areas of throws, holds, leverage and choking techniques, another focus was on the area of ​​kata. You can tell the judoka’s level of training by the color of the judo belt. There are student grades, Kyu grades and master grades, Dan grades. Every new judoka starts with the white judo belt, which comes with the judo suit, and can achieve the next higher level through testing. The examinee demonstrates falling exercises, standing and floor techniques, which become more extensive and more demanding depending on the level of graduation. The student grades go up to the brown judo belt. The master’s degree begins with the black judo belt.

The department head Thomas Rose and sports director Markus Simon are very happy that they both passed the test.
