Turkish Championship Marked by Revolt Against Refereeing Again

After the violent attack on the referee of the Ankaragücü-Rizespor match (1-1) on December 11, hit by the president of Ankaragücü Faruk Koca, the Turkish Championship was again marked by a revolt against the refereeing this Tuesday. The meeting between Istanbulspor and Trabzonspor was indeed stopped while Trabzonspor led 2-1.

The Istanbulspor players actually left the pitch around twenty minutes from the end of the match to protest against the refereeing of the match. Their president, Ecmel Faik Saraloglu, entered the field to ask his team to return to the locker room following, according to him, a foul not called in their favor which led to a goal by Trabzonspor (68th).
