Torremolinos Sees Decrease in Unemployment and Increase in Contracts

The city of Torremolinos has registered in the month of November a year-on-year decrease in unemployment of 3.44%, as well as a 15% increase in the number of contracts, as reported by the City Council.

Specifically, in November of this year the municipality has registered a total of 5,514 unemployed190 less than in the same month last year.

In regards to the number of contracts, It has gone from the 1,175 held in November 2022 to 1,352 in the same period in 2023, 177 more have signed up from the Consistory.

Of the total contracts made, the largest number occurred in the wholesale trade and vehicle retail, with 166 more than in November 2022. In second place is the hospitality industry, which experiences an increase of 90 contracts, followed by administrative activities with 13 more contracts.

Talking about age groups332 of these contracts were for those under 25 years of age, 621 for people between 25 and 44 years of age and 399 for workers over 45 years of age.

As for the level of instructionof the 1,352 contracts made last month, 800 have been to people with secondary education, 331 with complete primary education, 101 with post-secondary education, 92 without studies/unspecified and 28 to people with incomplete primary education.

Judo Christmas Trophy

On the other hand, some 400 athletes will participate next Saturday, December 16, in the XXXII judo Christmas trophya competition that will bring together judokas from different clubs in the province, and which will also serve as the XXVI José Campos Memorial.

The trophy was presented at the San Miguel Palace by the Councilor for Sports, Ramón Alcaide, together with Elena Salazar and Marco Campos representing the Club Arte y Deporte and Juanjo Cortés, president of the Torremolinos Judo Club.
