Thierry Henry Discusses Joining Como Club and Future Ambitions

Sports consultant, coach of the France Espoir team, Thierry Henry has worn different hats since he hung up his boots in 2014 after a 20-year career at the highest level. But before taking back control of the Bleuets, the former Arsenal legend became a shareholder of the Como club in August 2022, thus reuniting with his ex-teammate at the Gunners Cesc Fabregas. During an interview given to Sky Sports this Saturday, the 1998 world champion returned to the reasons which pushed him to join the project led by the Serie B resident while discussing his ambition within the Italian team.

“I agreed to join the club management because I was amazed by everything: the project, the city and the club’s aspirations. One of them is to ensure that the team becomes as famous as the lake that surrounds it. To achieve this, we must not lose contact with the community and the family aspect that was given to the project. We need to learn to think over a much wider period of time, for example over the next five years”, he expressed. As a reminder, Como surprises everyone this season by occupying third place in the Italian second division championship after 19 days, six points behind leader Parma.
