Drafting 12/12/2023 NBA

Carmelo Anthony stopped by “7PM in Brooklyn” to talk about his extensive career. The former Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers player, at 39 years old, wanted to defend himself from the narrative that said he was not a good defender in the NBA.

These have been his words on the matter:

“The narrative they give you stays with you no matter what,” Anthony explained during an episode of the show “7PM in Brooklyn.” «Even if you have proven that narrative wrong, they will wait to give you that recognition until a specific moment… That moment was when I defended LeBron. Likewise, Melo also expanded on LeBron, his longevity and what makes one of his best friends in the NBA so special: «I think the difference between him and everyone else is his discipline. Everyone can say ‘I want to do that’, but are you disciplined enough to follow that plan? I was able to see it first hand. When he focuses on something, he focuses from head to toe. For an aspiring athlete who thinks ‘he could last 20 years’, it takes a lot to do that. There are not many people who say that he plays two decades in a sport that is only 75 years old »
