Mirko Di Bernardo and his majority they have never been as strong as they are today. The exit of the former urban planning councilor and deputy mayor Consulswhich on paper represented the left-wing component (on paper, eh…) of a large and varied government team, allowed the mayor to broaden his field immediately following the entry into the majority of Luigi Spalletta (right-wing) and, in the medium term – the current one – to also be able to collect the favorable vote of the former centre-right mayoral candidate Lorenzo Letta for the budget. Something never seen before.
Di Bernardo’s success today is also completed by his abstention from voting on the budget itself Francesca Antonellianother minority representative, who recently joined Forza Italia.

We can calmly say that, as we wrote in recent months, Spalletta and Letta could never be considered exponents of an opposition which, at this point, can now be defined as having disappeared, dissolved, liquefied. The move of Readwhich motivated the vote in favor of the budget for the Administration’s commitment to making Grottaferrata the Book Capital, marks a point of no return. But it was already known.

So today Di Bernando governs with one political strength that it had never had before. The opposition is effectively down to 4 councilors of whom there is no great trace. Even less so than “La Città alGoverno”, which disappeared from the radar and was overwhelmed by its paradoxes.
On the political level, free from certain ties who had favored his election as mayor in the first round (which had never happened in Grottaferrata) in June 2022, Di Bernardo boasts a plateau that goes from the PD (let alone the numerical weight of today’s Democratic Party in Grottaferrata) to robust entries into Fratelli d’Italia and Forza Italia.
