Out of the DFB Cup, behind the top in the Bundesliga: BVB claims to be stronger than it is. This leads to many more misjudgments. The team is missing something very central this season.

A small book could be filled with the analysis of Borussia Dortmund’s sporting problems, so such an attempt would be pretty pointless at this point. However, there are a few other details in the crisis picture that are becoming more and more noticeable: those responsible are making far too many misjudgments and their way of communicating is slowly losing credibility. And something like that usually has an internal effect on the team at some point.

The series of fallacies began with the thesis that the dramatic experience of missing the championship in May strengthened solidarity and released new forces. The assumption that the squad can compete for the Bundesliga title despite the departure of Jude Bellingham also seems increasingly absurd. The fact that managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke claimed at the general meeting ten days ago that the team’s performance was viewed too critically in the reporting seems downright bizarre.
