The NBA has revealed the top 10 players who generated the most engagement on social media. LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is in first place a third of the way through the 2023-24 season, with the Frenchman Victor Wembanyama in second place, a surprise considering his recent selection first place by the San Antonio Spurs during the summer draft. The Frenchie, with his 2.22 meters and impressive technical skills, had already captivated in the United States before joining the NBA. Last season, he was the 8th most viewed player, accumulating 350 million views while still playing for Boulogne-Levallois. Currently, ‘Wemby‘ has already reached 508 million views this season, although it remains far from LeBron James’ 756 million.

Next to Victor Wembanyama, two other non-American players stand out in this ranking: the Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo (259 million views) and the Slovenian Luka Doncic (199 million). Also note the presence of another rookie, Chet Holmgren, promising pivot from Oklahoma City (122 million). Interestingly, the last two League MVPs, Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets) and Joel Embiid (Philadelphia Sixers), are not even in the top 10, as noted by Le Figaro.
