The first edition of the “Juego de las Estrellas” of the “Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional” was played on 20 January 1965, that day on the diamond of the University Stadium the “Estrellas del Centro” – “Estrellas del Zulia” faced each other. For the record, the match was won 5 – 3 by “Centro” with an excellent performance on the mound by Isaías “Latigo” Chávez.

From then on it became a fixed event in the month of December, except on a couple of occasions which was held in November, for Venezuelan baseball fans until 2017. Previously it had not been held in 2002 (due of a national strike) and 2010 (due to heavy rains).
