The Polish representative plays in the Champions League. They turned down millions of Pika nons for him

Jan Bednarek’s Southampton took last place in the Premier League last season and was eliminated from the competition. After relegation from the league, the biggest stars left the club – James Ward-Prowse (West Ham United) and Tino Livramento (Newcastle United). The Pole remained in the club, but in the summer famous teams made offers for him. One of them even played in the Champions League and he paid a lot of money for the 27-year-old.

Jan Bednarek could play in the Champions League and Bundesliga. Southampton turned away millions

This season, for the club from St Mary’s Stadium, Bednarek made 22 appearances and scored one goal. The Pole is the defensive leader of his team and helps in the fight to return to the Premier League. However, if Southampton accepted a lucrative offer for him in the summer, he could play in the Champions League.

Tomasz Włodarczyk in the program “Transfer Window” announced that Union Berlin had signed on for the central defender. The club from the German capital was looking for reinforcements before playing in the Champions League and Bundesliga and chose a Pole. He even offered EUR 10 million, but the offer was rejected. The English decided that Bednarek would be useful in their fight to return to the highest level of the game.

In Berlin, Bednarek could create an extremely interesting pair of defenders with the experienced Leonardo Bonucci and compete in the Champions League with Real Madrid, Braga and Napoli, in which Piotr Zieliński plays.

It was not only in the summer that Bednarek was a tasty target for clubs from the top leagues. – Now there are many offers, but Bednarek is supposed to help the “Saints” advance to the Premier League. This is more valuable than several million euros, added Włodarczyk.

For now, Southampton is third in the Championship, five points behind second-placed Ipswich Town and 11 points behind leaders Leicester City. This position guarantees the Pole’s club participation in the play-offs for entry to the Premier League with clubs from places 3-6 from the back of the elite.
