(LaPresse) The Los Angeles Lakers are the first champions of the NBA Cup, the new competition created by the American league to give greater interest to the regular season and with a very rich prize pool. In the final played in Las Vegas, the Lakers beat the surprising Indiana Pacers 123-109. MVP of the tournament is the eternal LeBron James, who at almost 39 years of age finished with a double double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Anthony Davis was dominant with 41 points and 20 rebounds. Haliburton’s 20 points and 11 assists were not enough for the Pacers.
