Facundo Campazzo’s impact on Real Madrid’s game and results is evident. The point guard, the team’s only signing last summer, has given him even greater potential than he had and, in the case of the current Euroleague champion, that is saying a lot. His sensational performance has turned the whites into an almost unstoppable machine, as he suffered his first defeat in the competition last week against Fenerbahce (10-1), and the Argentine in the November MVP.
Campazzo’s statistics in that month are astonishing: 23.5 efficiency thanks to 16.0 points and 8.3 assists, in addition to making 23/28 two-point shots (82.1%) and not missing any of his 20 free shots. In that stretch of the season, in addition, the point guard broke his rating record against Virtus (39) and his scoring record against Fenerbahce (33), although that performance was marred by a decisive turnover.
Of the six games in November, Madrid won five, some of them convincingly: against Maccabi, Virtus, AS Monaco, Valencia Basket and ALBA Berlin. HIS only setback was the recent duel against Fenerbahce. While Campazzo was on the court, the whites won by 112 points.
